Public Interest Litigation

Public interest litigation gives individuals and communities a route to challenge state action, enforce constitutional rights, and hold institutions accountable. Hamza Lakdawala has a keen interest in constitutional and human rights law and undertakes several pro bono cases each year, including strategic public interest matters before the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India.

As a senior member of the Chambers of Ms. Gayatri Singh, Senior Advocate, Hamza plays a key role in handling strategic human rights litigation, working closely on matters that combine legal rigor with a clear understanding of the public stakes involved.

Our work includes
  • Drafting and filing public interest litigation
  • Constitutional challenges to government action
  • Human rights litigation before High Courts and the Supreme Court
  • Advocacy in matters concerning marginalized and vulnerable groups
  • Pro bono representation in public interest matters
